Conservation

DSCF1529

Conservation is a key mission for the clubs within the Cork Federation of Gun Clubs

Our clubs work with farmers, landowners, community groups and their members to protect the local landscape, and to play a role in ensuring the future of Ireland’s game species and populations.

Conservation projects undertaken by members of the Federation of County Cork Gun Clubs include:

  • creating meadows & hedgerows to increase the number of habitats
  • fitting bird and bat boxes to support population growth
  • monitoring numbers and species varieties at the local level

We encourage our clubs to work actively to promote the biodiversity of Cork’s countryside.
